About time too!
I've been a bad blogger, not posted for a while. I've managed to upload some pics of recent cards today. I'm currently making a hammock for my granddaughter's teddies. Also I've decided I'm not happy with Scary Fairy's (Altered Barbie) wings or skirt so am hoping to be able to make new ones before the cloth doll group meeting this coming Sunday.

Fabric painted T-shirt
I like to do a bit of fabric painting (and dyeing) and had this plain brown t-shirt from M&S which I decided to brighten up a bit. I've used a lovely 12"x12" stencil - 'Windsong' from http://www.thecraftersworkshop.com/ they do 6"x6" versions which are scaled down. They can be used for lots of different projects including paper and household projects. I used Jones Tones Pearly paint in copper as this is quite thick so doesn't run. If you've never done stencilling before and fancy having a go it's best to use a dabbing motion with the paint to help prevent getting the paint under the stencil at the edges of the design. This particular type of paint doesn't need to be heat set as some fabric paints do. I sprinkled a little glitter on while the paint was still wet. Again this type of paint can be used to adhere beads but I stitched a few on once the paint was dry.

Altered Barbie
At the cloth doll group I go to http://www.yorkdollybirds.co.uk/home.htm we often have challenges which we can take part in or not as we wish. A few months ago it was to do an 'Altered Barbie' well it's taken a while but at last I've finished mine. She's a 'Scary Fairy' lol. I could have asked my granddaughter for one but somebody had bought some cheap dolls for £1 each. I had to chop her arms off - sorry - as I wanted her to have her arms akimbo for attitude. Managed to cadge a pair of boots off my granddaughter though, which I painted black. Her wings are made from vilene pelmet lining covered in silver foil wrapping paper which I heated with a heat gun and rubbed over with black Stazon.

Stash from Fashion, Embroidery & Stitch show
I visited the Fashion Embroidery & Stitch show at Great Yorkshire Showground Harrogate, last Saturday and had a wonderful time. It was really cold when I first got there and thought I'd only last a couple of hours, can't stand being cold. Luckily it warmed up and I was able to last all day. In case you're interested I had on 2 vests, another top (can't remember what now) wool cardi, pashmina and jacket and took another pashmina with me; which I ended up wearing; as I know it can be cold in there lol. Anyway bought some good stuff just need some ideas on what to do with it now :-/

They always have a great knitted display, this year it was 'Shaun the Sheep's Great British PicKnit' isn't it fabulous? This is only part of it. Those cakes look good enough to eat yum yum.

Handbag card
I made this for the 'Shape' challenge set by emi(rubita) for World Card Making Day '08 which was yesterday. The shape is my own design. Luckily I re-read the instructions and realised I had to use rubber stamps, so made the 'Tag-shaped' card. The paper is from a pack by Crafter's Companion and the flowers are Flora Doodles from http://www.joannasheen.com/

World Card Making Day '08 - Emi's challenge - Shape
This is another card for the WCM Day '08 and this one is for http://stamp-room-r.blogspot.com/ This had to be a shaped card - anything but square. I'd done a handbag card with nice paper and a lovely flower before reading the challenge again and realised I had to use stamps :-/

Wrapped Wire Doll
I was inspired to make some of these after seeing them in a cloth doll book. This is the first. The full photo is the doll lying down so I thought it may look better standing but that one hasn't turned out so well, neither has the close-up of the face but I'm putting them on anyway :-/ I started off with a wire armature which I covered in wadding, then wrapped in various yarns and braids. Thanks for looking :)

In My Pocket - Leaves
This week's challenge for http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/search/label/In%20My%20Pocket is Leaves. This is my offering, hope you like it ;-) It's not really noticeable but the background stamp is in the shape of a leaf and talks about leaves falling from the autumn tree, so very appropriate I think.

Cards - A mix of cards
Here are some cards I've made recently. I love the girl stamps from Dimension Fourth which I got at the Papercraft show in Harrogate last weekend. I had intended buying a couple of High School Musical stamps from Oyster Stamps but they had forgotten to bring them. I may still buy one as I need a nice 'boy' stamp. The baby boy card is made with the fab 'Hugs' stamp by Rachel Anne Miller x

Sunday Stampers - Bees
This is my effort for this weeks http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/search/label/The%20Sunday%20Stampers I only have the tiny bee stamp. I decided to make a card this week as I'm trying to build up a stash of ready-made ones. Thanks for looking ;-)

Altered Art - PG Tips box
Have altered a PG Tips box for a challenge on http://craftsbycarolyn.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=47265Hmm I don't know how to upload it onto the forum - have put it in my photobucket but can't get it from there :-/ I've been able to do that with other people's images but don't seem to have the html code to do it with this. No doubt it's very simple, like me lol

In My Pocket - Watch
Well, it's taken me ages to do this http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/search/label/In%20My%20Pocket 'cos I either dropped an inked stamp onto the work, got ink on from my fingers that I couldn't disguise or just didn't like what I'd done. Though the theme is 'Watches' most of my design seems to be about dragonflies :-/ but actually I was thinking along the lines of the 'Butterfly counts moments not months' thing (yes I know mine's a dragonfly but probably lives an even shorter time than the butterfly - does anyone know?) and was going to print that out but decided I should have printed that onto the card I'd coloured first before stamping. Anyway just decided I'd stamp the 'moments' bit of that lol.

Now why do they look like this? One is the outside of the pocket the other the inside so should be the same width but the inside one obviously should look longer :-/ I'm confused. I scanned them and reduced the size by the same ratio.

Sunday Stampers - Clowns
I've done my contribution for the Sunday Stampers http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/ challenge this week. I only had a 'Pierrot Doll' stamp and copied some info about Commedia dell'Arte http://italian.about.com/library/weekly/aa110800a.htm which I used for the background. I'd coloured the paper with Distress inks: Milled Lavender, Tattered Rose and Warm Lipstick before printing onto it. The hat is from Lost Coast Designs, Party Hats Two Set. x

Craft Shows - Papercrafts Extravaganza
Went to the Papercrafts Extravaganza on Saturday with 2 friends and had a lovely day. Spent more than I intended, but isn't that what us crafters always do :-O I was awake till after 3.30 on the Friday night and after picking my friends up - one at Wyke - I found the round-trip tiring on top of the lack of sleep. I usually try out any new stamps I've bought at shows but as of yet I haven't even taken my stuff out of the bag!! Not like me at all. Today I went to the cloth doll group I'm in which is in York and though it's not that far I think after yesterday it's just added to the fatigue. When I got home, after the grandkids had practised piano (it's in my house), I had a little lie down. So it looks like I won't even look over my stash till tomorrow :-O
After looking through a book on cloth dolls, belonging to the lady that runs the doll group, I've been inspired to make some wire dolls - wire armature wrapped in wadding then fabric. So watch this space.

Ooh bought some fabby Flora Doodles from JS http://www.joannasheen.com/craft-supplies/ they come in little boxes but I've taken a few out of each to show here. I returned something to QVC. I thought I'd paid using my Switch card but had in fact used my credit card which I'd paid off so was now in credit, which I used to buy the FDs :) I'm going to the Papercrafts Extravaganza in Harrogate tomorrow, then the Fashion, Embroidery & Stitch show, also in Harrogate, at the beginning of Oct then I'm on a self-imposed spending ban :-/
