Needlefelted Tree -WIP

This is a work in progress (WIP) - it's been in the making for sooooo long. It was challenge for http://www.yorkdollybirds.co.uk/home.htm which I'm a member of. We started with a wooden toilet roll holder for the base which we then wound wire round to make the branches. On top of this was laid either batting or in my case an old jumper which I'd felted. Then we needlefelted some of our own handmade felt. I seem to have lost my last bit of felt so ned to get some more 'wool tops' to make some more felt. The needlefelting takes time and aggravates the arthritis in my thumb - holding the small felting needles. When the felting is complete I need to make some leaves for it x

Could you stick the top of the needles in a cork to give you something to grip better on??
