Knitting & Stitching show

I went to the Knitting & Stitching show at Harrogate on Friday with a few friends, we had a great day.  Luckily we missed the snow by 1 day, though we've only had a bit here - about 2 inches so far!  In between we've had some lovely sun and blue skies but it hasn't cleared the snow.  Thought I'd show you what I bought and just a few pics of some quilts on display for Elizabeth.  I didn't take many pics as I'd forgotten I had my camera with me till later on.  I bought some fabric, lovely threads, Brusho, Koh-i-noor waterbased dyes (the little palette), a brayer (I already have the softer one but this one will be better for using with textiles), something for a Secret Santa gift (just peeking out from under the fabric) and soy wax to have a go at Batik.  The checkered fabric and the 2 underneath are a much deeper shade of green than showing here and look much better IRL.  The other little pile of fabrics aren't normally colours or patterns I would go for, but I think these co-ordinate really well and will be great for dolls.

Haven't been online much due to going to the show and then on Saturday I was on for a short while earlie on but I had a migraine later and was in bed by 9.10 :-(  I thought it best not to use the PC yesterday.

Another page for Sunday Stampers and Report from ICHF

I had completed this page when I completed the other 2 (previous post) but photo'd it later and couldn't get a good pic.  This is another entry for the Sunday Stampers and also for the BIA (Bind-it-all) book I'm making.  As the SS is now 100 Hels is having a Mega Candy giveaway so for the chance to win why not pop over and join in.
Well, had a great time at the ICHF show in Liverpool yesteday.  Tracey and I went down together and met up with another friend the lovely Ann (originally from Craft Swap Forum) and also the lovely Nicci - think I contacted her initially via WOYWW and as she lives in Liverpool we arranged to meet up.  As a Stampin' Up demonstrator she was on the SU stand on the Friday but as she lives not far from where the show was she had a mooch round yesterday.  I enjoyed the show but I think if suffers from being a mix of papercrafts and stitchery stuff.  I love both as do many others but many more prefer just one or the other so I feel this affects the number of people attending.  Also I overheard quite a few stallholders saying it wasn't as busy as such and such a show - presumably dedicated papercraft shows.  I bought some stamps, Tattered Floral die (£11.50 from the Craft Bug, unfortunately they'd sold out of the birdcage die on the Friday) by that guy whatsisname (I'd be able to remember more easily if he was much better known LOL) For those who haven't heard of him, where've you been? I mean the fabulous Tim H.  I also bought some flowers, archival inkpad 2 MS punches, fab book on natural dyes and woad seeds; yes WOAD seeds!  I've just read that I need to sow the seeds either March or November, tut, long time to wait!  So Googled 'Can I grow Woad indoors' and got this:
Marijuana growing Indoor, all the steps for growing weed indoors hehehehehe.  Hmm, maybe I can start a cottage industry! LOL
The little tubs of alpha stamps are Studio G and cost £1 they're  fantastic value and great little stamps, they do quite a few different fonts; I have 4 sets now.

Stash from Fashion, Embroidery & Stitch show

I visited the Fashion Embroidery & Stitch show at Great Yorkshire Showground Harrogate, last Saturday and had a wonderful time. It was really cold when I first got there and thought I'd only last a couple of hours, can't stand being cold. Luckily it warmed up and I was able to last all day. In case you're interested I had on 2 vests, another top (can't remember what now) wool cardi, pashmina and jacket and took another pashmina with me; which I ended up wearing; as I know it can be cold in there lol. Anyway bought some good stuff just need some ideas on what to do with it now :-/

They always have a great knitted display, this year it was 'Shaun the Sheep's Great British PicKnit' isn't it fabulous? This is only part of it. Those cakes look good enough to eat yum yum.

Stash - Flora Doodles

Ooh bought some fabby Flora Doodles from JS http://www.joannasheen.com/craft-supplies/ they come in little boxes but I've taken a few out of each to show here. I returned something to QVC. I thought I'd paid using my Switch card but had in fact used my credit card which I'd paid off so was now in credit, which I used to buy the FDs :) I'm going to the Papercrafts Extravaganza in Harrogate tomorrow, then the Fashion, Embroidery & Stitch show, also in Harrogate, at the beginning of Oct then I'm on a self-imposed spending ban :-/

Stash - Stitch & Creative Crafts show, GMEX Manchester, 30th Aug 2008

I went to the Stitch & Creative Crafts show on Saturday with a friend and we met up with another friend while we were there. We had a wonderful time. I was fairly restrained with my spending as I've been rather skint of late, also the Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza is on later this month in Harrogate so will need some spends for there ;-) I bought 2 packs of cards, 1 pack of glitter (already got lots of colours), 1 pack DS tape, small stamp, sheet of Inkadinkadoo stamps and the 'around-2-it' snowman. As well as the stash shown, I bought some matt photo paper and 2 packs of sewing machine needles. If you haven't seen the 'around-2-it' stamps the main image has a front and back image - great for using in apertures

(The GMEX is now called Manchester Central, but I prefer GMEX)
