I thought I'd show what's on my sometime other workdesk AKA the dining table. As you can see it gets as messy as my craft desk. I've got a few things on the desk that need altering slightly. The rubber gloves are there 'cos I've been doing a bit of free machine embroidery and as you have to move the fabric yourself it makes it easier to grip and move the fabric round. The fabric piece is for a project we are working on at the cloth doll group I'm a member of. My free mahcine embroidery skills are sadly lacking. I keep practising but when I do something like circles a few go fine then the machine just cuts right across one of the circles - I'm sure it does it on it's own! And I get a few angles in the stitching and when did you see circles with angles! but heyho. I've just done a kind of random stitch on mine but even that has anlges when it was supposed to be nice curves! So now if you want to show us what's on your desk pop over to Akela Julia's then dive in, it's just for fun :-)
Have decided to post my tag for Linda's countdown here ;-) I've used some lovely green felt with a bit of free machine embroidery round the edge (as I said above doing circles is not my forte :-/ so if you're experienced don't look too closely hehe) the number 2 is free machined too and I made the flowers out of the rainbow organza. Just to say in my defence here though I made the mistake of doing free machine embroidery on a small surface - not easy!
It's a glorious day here, hope it is where you are ;-)

Wish that machine was on my desk, fab stuff !!
I am not even sure my machine is capable of free motion stitching, and if it is, it doesn't have a foot for it.
I am impressed by the TIP to use rubber gloves for moving the fabric. I hope everyone coming to your blog will think it's well worth the price of admission!
oh Anne you would laugh if you saw my ancient sewing machine-no electronics for me! Love the tag and the stitching. Lovely day here too.

I should really get my sewing machine out. It's gathering dust. Lovely tag! Kathleen x
Great tag and I love the colour scheme. No 'production lines' on your desk LOL!
loving all your sewing Anne and what's wrong with a few angles - personally I am an angle fan especially as I can't draw a circle or a straight line freehand, but I am a dab hand at angles.
xx
Oh Anne, I just love that Tag - very stroke-able! Love S x
Another desk with a sewing machine on. Last week it was all cats, now the sewing machines are multiplying
Enjoy your day Hugs Can x
Hi there, hows you today my dear? Anne, you and me are so alike, I have two desks too, lol! My dining room table is where I normally stamp up and colour in. My sewing machine must come out of its dark cupboard and come and play soon, thanks for inspiring me.

Oh, these are just lovely! And in response to your question on my blog...I will share my dolls for sure when they are finished! One is planned to be done for a post on the 26th and the other will just be done when I get her done! LOL! I will be sure to post her, though!
Hehehe - I think Wipso and I are infecting you all with sewing machinitis!!!! Thats the second one I have seen today. Love the free machining - that little tag is beautiful.
Have not WOYWWed this week but had to pop by a few friends over the next few days
Love that stiched piece ...what fun
I have problems sewing a straight line, let alone circles or free embroidery!! The tag is too cute and that fabric piece is gorgeous, such lovely colours.
Lovely stuff Lou. I too find angles appearing but I put my work in an embroidery ring-I tacked it to a cotton background first. I could probably improve it if I knew what I was doing! Will pinch the rubber gloves idea if you don't mind. BettyXXX
I'd love to have my sewing machine out full time but the reality is I never use it because I can't be *!$'@! to get it out every time LOL
xoxo Sioux
Fabulous tag....haven't used my sewing machine for years, i think I could qualify for the antique's roadshow!!

Really love your sewing Anne. It's so good to see more sewing machines about on the desks :-)

Gosh Anne, there's nothing you can't do..how amazing is that 'free' piece, lovely. Like the tag too - what are you planning to do with your countdown set?
I love the idea of free stitching, dont know if i can do it on my machine
So glad to see that the eyes made it to your dining table!
Your tag is beautiful :-)
well your free machining looks just fine to me. It can be tricky though, do you put your fabric in an embroidery hoop? that def helps, then you just swing the hoop around .
I love your 3 and 2 tags. I've cheated and done 2 and 1 together. (as you may have seen by the time I get to the end of the WOYWWers today!)
wow lou...loving your tag and those gorgeous flowers...me I will just be stitching straight...well straightish lines me thinks....hugs kath xxx

The free embroidery sounds intriguing, but I can't sew to save myself. Your tag is gorgeous and I love the colours in the quilted piece.
Oh Anne I'm sooo late today, I wish I didn't have to go off to work, it does mess up a good ol' crafty day!! I haven't get a sewer..(that doesn't look right..) sewing machine...no...but lookie!! he has 'eyes'!!!
(Lyn)
There's 4 little ones one my desk this week, not sure if the camera got them or not!

I used to be glued to my machine for years when the kids were growing up...not so much now, but I did make a Christmas quilt last year and reminded me of how much I love to sew. Free handing sounds hard to me! You will have to show us more!
Your machine's got googly eyes ! Love the tags you've been making.
