WOYWW 11th August

Alas and alack, still no tidy desk!  Most days I do think 'I'm going to sort my desk out today' but I end up playing instead hehe.  I really was going to do it yesterday but when I started I came across a couple of inky pages that I decided to do a bit more to and one thing led to another.  I added a bit more colour and texture to 2 pages in my art journal as well.  I coloured some gel medium with mica powder and stencilled it onto 2 pages.  I did the bluey one first (the stars and spots as well as the lacy bit) and wished I'd chosen a different colour powder for contrast so stencilled a bit onto the opposite page just to show how it looks in a contrasting colour.  No further on with the t-shirt as I was a bit stumped as to what to do next, but have an idea now.

Pop over to our esteemed hostess Julia's blog if you'd like to join in La Grande Snoop ;-)

I really LOVE these pages. And now I know what to do with all those mica powders I bought last week. I'll just dig out my gel medium and go to town. Thanks for the tip, whether you knew it or not. Happy WOYWW.

Fab pages - and great tips as to how to do pages - must get some journalling done shortly - things just get in the way. Thanks for the look around. Was in L'pool yesterday and the sun shone down on us - great day out steampunking (not really but Jo and I felt it was that for us)

Hi Anne - thanks so much for popping by - nice to "meet" another West Yorkshire blogger. Your desk is very colourful - love the inky samples. I think I could get used to leaving my desk in a mess!!

LOL I quite often think I will catch up with the housework today and end up crafting! My desk is only tidy for a short while - mainly because I have been crafting elsewhere but it will be messy again soon! Love the pages you are working on.

ooo I really love the acid page with the bluey/purple stencilled on top, really pops. Get some white acrylic dry brushed over the other page if you aren't keen, not thick though let the colour peep thru, then do a new layer on top.

Lol - my tidying up sounds like yours!!! Wish I was an organised soul but all I organise is another mess!!!

Much better to play than to tidy, I reckon - and what beautiful colours. I see the eyes are on the easel this week :-)

Talcum powder on shrink plastic! You are a genius, my dear! I will serpently be trying that! I went to uni with a girl who lived in Osset, I went up to stay with her family a couple of times n we went to a pub called... The Litten Tree, or summat? The back car park was a really steep slope!

Love the colour of your journal pages and what a great technique I didn't know that one mixing mica with gel medium, will be trying that. Haven't done a thing since the Dina weekend seem to be all art'd up if you understand what I mean!

I've just seen your other comment Anne!! The paints are Eco Friendly and you can get them here. They are much better value than ranger and always the same creamy consistancy. I will onlybuy these now xx
