Sunday Stampers - Metal

Yippee, so far I'm on the ball this week ;-)  Have already done my entry for Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club (see prev post) and have now completed my Sunday Stampers project.  The theme for this week's SS is 'Metal'.  When I saw what it was I'd already decided to either do a heart or use my Tim's Ornamental die, but when I saw Kay's 2 lovely hanging birds it inspired me to use some fabric with texture 'cos I thought it would work so well with metal.  I decided on hessian which I already had but it was au naturel and I wanted it brown, so just painted it with acrylic paint.  I cut the flower using the Tattered Florals die. The little tag is wood (which was part of the candy I won a few weeks ago from Hels).  I've used UTE on it then stamped into it, the flower attached is from a light shade fitting and the heart is a charm from 'All My Memories' which I've had since one day - from QVC.  I coloured it with Krylon gold leafing pen.  The metal hanger I coloured with alcohol inks which I also used on the metal on the 'Ornametal' shape xx

What a wonderful piece!! love how you've combined fabric with metal, and that tag looks awesome!! Thanks for leaving such a nice comment at my blog today :) I totally agree with you, pictures are better taken outside :) I prefer to use my scanner though, the problem is that it's crap when it comes to metal :) Thanks for the tip and have a wonderfully creative week!!

you are soo clever at making these little works of art, love it! (Don't forget the gingham is a freebie! In fact, why do people ever buy it! (me) I think I have as least three links on my blog) Lookout for my pink gingham card later today...I'm very late forwork now!

I'm always impressed with whatever you make, and this "metal" is no exception. At least your entire piece matches (grin). Love that you used fabric. Didn't realize you could cut fabric with a die cutter. Geez, I must live in a cave! Again, a stunning piece.

Oh so gorgeous Anne, I'm hoping to be back in the saddle this week, have had a really busy couple of weeks, and have had to ban myself from the pc and have a list as long as your arm of cards to make.
Am off work this week, did bbq for inlaws yesterday, walked into Morley this morning and now have blister on my foot. Walking tomorrow, England game on Wednesday, seaside on Thursday and maybe crafting on Friday if I get chance lol.
